Trek team successfully reach the summit of Mount Everest

Everest Foundation trek 2012On Friday 25 May, Roger Owen and the small team of climbers successfully reached the summit of the world's tallest mountain. Following 54 days of arduous climbing, acclimatisation and freezing temperatures, the team arrived at the top of Everest, where they spent a few minutes resting and taking in the view, before beginning the long descent back to Base Camp.

The team has managed to raise in excess of £500,000, including company matching, in support of the St. James's Place Foundation. A huge well done to Roger and the rest of the climbers for such a fantastic achievement and for raising money towards this good cause.

The team will rest and recuperate in Kathmandu before flying back to the UK on 4 June. You can find out more about the Everest challenge and read a detailed report of Roger's climb on the Everest 2012 website (opens in new window).
